Adisham Bungalow of Haputale Sri Lanka



Adisham bungalow is a very big bungalow which was made by British governor at 1931 and it is at 2km from Haputale town of Sri Lanka. Several visitors used to visit this place daily. In present the bungalow is a church.
Adisham bungalow is at near to Haputale town at very closed to Glanor tea estate of Haputale. There are several tea estates and Hindu Kovils also at near Adisham bungalow. Up side of bungalow is a eucalyptus forest and downside of bungalow is railway between Haputale and Idalgashinna railway stations.
Garden of Adisham is a fruit estate and flower estate. Jams, Cordials and several foods are produced at Adisham bungalow and available for buy.
Adisham Bungalow is at about 1 Km away from Haputale town. Three Wheelers or Haputale - Welimada Buses suitable for travel to this place. Bungalow, Glanor tea Estate and Railway of this place is Beautiful

 

Bogoda wooden bridge

 Bogoda wooden bridge and temple is close to Hali-ela town.The ancient rock temple, partly built into the rocks to one side of the bridge has a few old murals, a large reclining Buddha & one in Samadhi position. The rock was converted into a temple by King Walagambahu (104-76 BC). The king found refuge in the rock from the marauding Dravidian invaders from South India as he did in Dambulla caves. Upon regaining his kingdom, he had the rock temple built in gratitude as he built the world renowned (A World heritage Site) Rangiri Dambulu Temple (Golden Dambulla Rock Temple). In one of famous literary works of Lanka named Sandesha Kavya (1612-1624) (Letter of Poems), travellers were encouraged to worship at this temple on their route from Badulla to Kandy. Behind the temple, down some steps is an entrance to a tunnel believed to run through the mountain to the nearby tea estate, Tudumale. It has 

DOWA CAVE TEMPLE

 

Dowa Cave Temple is located 6km from Bandarawela. Placed amidst the hills, the historic cave temple complex was once the sanctuary for King Valagamba. The temple has a beautiful ornamental gateway. It has a 38 ft Buddha image sculptured from a single rock and paintings belonging to the Kandyan era, depicting the Jataka stories.

Dowa Cave Temple with its enigmatic divine charm is located at the bottom of a hill on the banks of a charming hill stream. the cave is a major Badulla tourist destination where visitors admire the ancient and lovely paintings that adorn the walls of the Dowa Cave Temple. The temple has painting and architectural work of Kandyan style. A striking but spectacular part of the paintings lie on the rock cave's ceiling. Here the paintings having the astrological chart, with their symbols well featured. On the temple roof ceiling if the image house are paintings of the lotus flower in full bloom and its tendrils winding around have been artistically executed.

 

Badulla, Sri Lanka is the charming capital town of the Uva Province. It is a feast for the eyes as there is abundance of palms and other tropical trees that cover the mountains that encircle Badulla. . It was the base of Sinhalese princes who ruled the area under the king in Kandy before it became part of the British Empire. Little Adam’s Peak at Ella

A hike up the conical Adam’s Peak is one of the top things to do in Sri Lanka. Legions of people complete the hike daily, both pilgrims and travelers.  It was a blissfully easy hike — simple directions led outside of Ella, and up through the Newbourg Tea Plantation to a dirt track with signs clearly pointing the way. The path was only slightly uphill, almost as if designed to be as effortless as possible. The other hikers we passed, on their way back down, all had big smiles on their faces. Light exercise in gorgeous nature: it’d be hard to imagine a better way to begin the day.

Little Adam’s Peak lays on the eastern edge of the Ella Gap, straight across from the (much higher) summit at Ella Rock. The views are similar, but from Little Adam’s Peak you can see the Rawana Falls, which border the highway headed south.

 

Lipton Seat

 Lipton Seat is most beautiful tea estate at 9 Km away from Haputale town and as part of the Dambethanna Estate. Thare is a bus to Dambethanna from Bandarawela via Haputale town










 Ravana waterfalls

Ravana waterfalls is one of very beautiful of Sri Lanka and which is situated at Badulla district closed to Near Ella place. This waterfall is situated very closed to the Bandarawela-Wallawawaya road. Anyone travel along this way can be seen nice waterfall called Ravana falls. Ravana falls is not a single one. Number of Ravana falls available in closed area. Ravana cave temple, Dova Teple and Ravana fallls are related with legend story.

Demodara Railway Station

Demodara 9 arc ancient railway bridge and Demodara special railway station are closed to Haputale area. About 20 Km to Demodara station via Bandarawela. Main road and railway also can be used to access Demodara.

Demodara railway station is at between Ella and Uduwara railway stations. Demodara is at closed to Badulla - Colombo Main road and 8km to Badulla and 14Km from Bandarawela. There is a subway to Spring Weli village from demodara, this way is at closed to Demodara railway station. Demodara railway station is a wonderful design of architecture situated in the Badulla district of the Uva province in Sri Lanka in a distance of 172 miles (276.8 Kilometers) from Colombo with a height of 2990 ft. (911.61 Meters) from the sea level. The first train arrived at Demodara was in the year of 1921.
